Message from Mr.Iwasaki, Chairman of the JLIA

Creating partnerships in order to convey quality products.

Japan's unique street fashion has recently garnered attention, and the adjective kawaii (cute) has started being used internationally. Naturally, Japanese fashion is not just business, and tastes in fashion are becoming globalized. Leather goods, which play a role in fashion, have been cultivated over many decades in the Japanese market; now, of course, our new challenge is putting our products to the test in other Asian markets.

For example, we will display our products at the 2014 APLF Fashion Access fashion fair. Our ambition is to distinguish ourselves as unique amongst the 15 companies displaying their shoes, bags, accessories, belts, and gloves.

Leather is an interesting material. Because it is natural, it is not uniform: no two pieces are the same. Our products, which are carefully constructed from leather, adapt to the consumer through use over time. In fashion, it's rare to have a product that matures with time.

The quality of Japan's leather goods is starting to gain recognition overseas. In addition to each brand's characteristic sense of design, one doesn't see in other kinds of bags the consideration paid to interior details or the delicate construction. The existence of such fine work is the result of the spirituality of the artisan who creates the piece.

Leather goods are discerning goods with a meticulous attention to quality. A longstanding partnership is necessary to understand this fact and to establish one's company in the market. Please drop by our booth and try our products. We hope this event will be a place to create new connections.
